Carers NT is here to support your familiy. A family carer provides unpaid care and support to a family member or friend who has a disability, a mental illness, a chronic condition, a terminal illness, or who is frail aged. We provide a range of services to these family carers that so often get negelected.
Formed in 1992, Carers NT is an incorporated body which exists, according to our constitution, to improve the health, wellbeing, resilience and financial security of carers; as well as to promote the recognition of caring as a shared responsibility of family, community, business and government.
Carers NT aims to have a community in which carers are recognized and valued as a significant asset in which they have access to timely and appropriate services that cater to their physical, emotional and psychological health, in order for them to keep being great caregivers. Their mission is to enhance the quality of life for carers in the Northern Territory by providing: Quality service delivery; Community development, education, information and awareness with their families and communities; Advocacy; Involvement in public policy development as it relates to carers. We also offer financial consulting to our affiliated caregivers and their families, helping them manage complicated financial situations caused by accident, disease or age.
